Daughter of Sandy Hook Victim Among Swift Twitter Reaction to Trump's 2nd Amendment Comment

— -- Donald Trump is under fire on social media after suggesting "nothing" can be done to stop Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's Supreme Court picks except "maybe" the "Second Amendment people."

"Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish the Second Amendment,” the Republican presidential nominee said during a campaign stop at North Carolina University. "... If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks."

He continued, "Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know."

Robby Mook, campaign manager for Clinton, released a statement, saying: "A person seeking to be the president of the United States should not suggest violence in any way."

The Trump campaign insisted the candidate's words referred to the power of "Second Amendment people" to unify.
