Donald Trump to Address Trade, Borders and Law and Order at RNC Tonight
The GOP presidential nominee said he looks forward to his big speech tonight.
— -- Donald Trump said he will reiterate the message that the “country has a lot of problems” during his big speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland tonight.
“Well, I’m talking about trade, I’m talking about law and order, I’m going to be talking about borders. I’m going to be talking about many different things,” Trump told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in an interview Wednesday that aired today on “Good Morning America."
“Our country has a lot of problems. I’m basically going to be using the same message and giving the same message … that I’ve been talking about for a long time.”
When asked specifically about whether he’ll be addressing some of his more controversial proposals, such as the plan to temporarily ban all Muslims or to build a wall between the United States and Mexico to keep out illegal immigrants, Trump replied: “Yeah, you’ll be hearing a lot of things ... I mean, I haven’t spoken yet.”
The GOP presidential candidate, who officially secured the party’s nomination Tuesday night, said he looks forward to taking the stage on the final night of the convention after watching his wife and children speak.
“The arena was just unbelievable; the excitement,” he said.
So far, there has been no talk of Trump’s contentious policy plans at the Republican National Convention. Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has dominated the remarks by a parade of speakers who have made their way to the podium inside the Quicken Loans Arena. An ABC News review of transcripts found almost 200 references to Clinton in the first two days of speeches at the convention.
