Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has cancelled planned campaign events for Donald Trump in Florida today.

"Todd Palin was in a bad snow machine accident last night and is currently hospitalized,” a Trump campaign aide told ABC News. “Governor Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon. Mr. Trump’s thoughts are prayers are with the Palin family at this time."

A Palin aide told ABC News that Todd Palin is “currently hospitalized in intensive care,” and the former governor has been on the phone with doctors and family all morning.

The Trump campaign has been “fantastically understanding” that "family comes first,” according to the aide.

Before returning to Alaska, Palin made an unscheduled appearance at Trump's event in Tampa, Florida, today.

"Thank you guys for your prayers for my husband who is recovering right now in ICU after a wreck on a snow machine, so thank you," Palin said.
