Nov. 18, 2007 — -- Ira Levin, 78 -- Novelist whose best-selling novels "Rosemary's Baby," "The Stepford Wives," and "The Boys from Brazil" were made into motion pictures.

Joe Nuxhall, 79 -- After debuting as the youngest Major League baseball player at 15, he went on to spend 50 years with Cincinnati as a pitcher and broadcaster.

Augustus F. Hawkins, 100 -- Civil rights lawmaker who was California's first black U.S. congressman; he helped found the Congressional Black Caucus.

"The whole issue gets down to whether or not scholarships can be used to provide diversity in enrollment."
