“GMA” is Delivering its Largest Adults 25-54 Season MarginOver “Today” in 22 Years

ABC News’ “Good Morning America” ranked as the week’s No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (5.128 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.832 million) for the week of May 25, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” outperformed NBC’s “Today” (4.462 million and 1.700 million) by 666,000 Total Viewers and 132,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, “GMA” scored its largest overall viewer lead in 9 weeks and its widest in the key adult news demo in 7 weeks – since weeks of 3/23/15 and 4/6/15, respectively.

In addition, “GMA” increased its year-to-year margins (646,000 and 74,000, respectively, on w/o 5/26/14) over “Today” in both Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 25-54 (+78%).

“GMA” improved on the previous week (1.759 million and 1.211 million on w/o 5/18/15) in Adults 25-54 (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%). “GMA” was also up the most in both key adult demos compared to CBS’ “CBS This Morning” (+2%/+4%) and NBC’s “Today” (-7%/-7%).

Season to date, “GMA” is the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. “GMA” is leading “Today” by 584,000 Total Viewers and by 127,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, “GMA” has increased its season margin over “Today” versus the same point last season in Adults 25-54 (+26% - 127,000 vs. 101,000).

Furthermore, ranking No. 1 for the 3rd-straight season in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54, “GMA” is seeing its widest Adults 25-54 margin over “Today” in 22 years – since the 1992-93 season.

During the week, “GMA” beat “CBS This Morning” in Total Viewers (+46%), Adults 25-54 (+80%) and Adults 18-49 (+75%).
