“This Week” Increases by Double-Digits Year-to-Year in Adults 25-54 (+63%) and Total Viewers (+49%)

Season-to-Date, “This Week” is Delivering Its Strongest Performance in 7 Years

ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” stood as Sunday’s No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (1.120 million) on February 21, 2016, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” beat NBC’s “Meet the Press” (1.083 million) by 37,000 and CBS’ “Face the Nation” (1.032 million) by 88,000.

“This Week” saw increases week-to-week (3.455 million and 971,000, respectively, for 2/14/16) in Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+15%), posting its 2nd-best performance of the season in the key adult news demo. In addition, “This Week” was the only public affairs program to see gains from the previous week as CBS’ “Face the Nation” (-10%/-13%), NBC’ Meet the Press” (-6%/-5%) and Fox’s “Fox News Sunday (-10%/-5%) all turned in losses.

“This Week” surged on the same Sunday last year (2.447 million and 688,000, respectively, for 2/22/15) in both Total Viewers (+49%) and Adults 25-54 (+63%).

Season to date, “This Week” leads CBS’ “Face the Nation” by 39,000 Adults 25-54 (975,000 vs. 936,000), beating the CBS program by its largest new demo advantage at this point of a season in 8 years – since the 2007-08 season.

“This Week” is improving by double digits in both Total Viewers (+15% - 3.319 million vs. 2.888 million) and Adults 25-54 (+12% - 975,000 vs. 874,000) versus its year-ago season averages to post its strongest performance in 7 years – since the 2008-09 season.
