Columbia Families Fund

July 7 -- The Columbia Families Fund is currently gathering donations to provide financial assistance to the spouses and family members of the seven astronauts who were lost in the Columbia space shuttle tragedy on Feb. 1.

The founder of the Columbia Families Fund, Joe Edwards, is a former astronaut who piloted the last American mission to the Mir space station. Edwards flew with Michael Anderson, a crew member on the Columbia, on a 1998 mission aboard Endeavour.
