Tiger Woods Withdraws From Bridgestone Invitational Due to Back Pain

Tiger Woods withdrew from the final round of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday after hurting his back, ESPN reported. Woods was in visible pain during the tournament, stemming from a back injury that occurred after the golfer fell back into a fairway bunker on the second hole.

After the incident, Wood proceeded to hit several poor shots, until he ultimately withdrew after hitting his tee shot on the ninth hole. Woods is reportedly in Florida for evaluation and subsequent treatment.

Beyonce has released a ‘Flawless’ remix, with Nicki Minaj featured on the track. The new version had some interesting lyric additions, including “Of course sometimes s**t go down / when it’s a billion dollars on an elevator,” possibly referencing the Solange and Jay Z elevator brawl in May.

Ray Guy was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio over the weekend -- making history as the first pure punter to be recognized, ESPN reported. He joins 21 other Oakland Raiders already inducted, saying in his speech, "This is long, long overdue. But now, the Hall of Fame as a complete team.” Joining him were several others, most notably Michael Strahan.

The New York Giants kicked off the NFL preseason with a 17-13 win against the Buffalo Bills in the Hall of Fame Game 2014, ESPN reports. Andre Williams, rookie Giants running back, led the way with seven carries for 48 yards and a touchdown, while David Wilson was sidelined after suffering a second neck injury in less than a year. The start of the regular season is just a month away!

Finally, Brett Farve will be inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame later later in the year, with the No. 4 jersey he donned from 1992-2008 to be retired, ESPN reports. The quarterback led the Packers to two Super Bowls, and though he had stints on the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings, Farve is happy to be remembered as a Packer, saying: “As time goes by, that’s how I will be remembered -– as a Packer."
