— -- Baylor quarterback Jarrett Stidham is out for the season with a broken bone in his ankle, the team confirmed to ESPN.

Coach Art Briles said earlier this week that Stidham was "highly questionable" for Friday's game against TCU. The freshman was sidelined for the second half of Baylor's 45-35 road upset of No. 6 Oklahoma State last week.

Chris Johnson, a sophomore, has played in nine career games and is in line to make his first career start at quarterback. He moved to wide receiver before the season but returned to playing quarterback after Baylor lost Seth Russell to a season-ending neck injury last month.
