— -- A host of star players went down with injuries this week. Here are the most significant names who got banged up.

Sam Bradford, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: Bradford injured his left shoulder and suffered a concussion in the third quarter, when Dolphins linebacker Chris McCain laid a brutal hit on him. The Eagles announced that Bradford's on his shoulder X-rays were negative, but they ruled him out for the remainder of the game. Bradford had completed 19 of 25 passes for 236 yards against Miami. His replacement, Mark Sanchez, threw a crucial red zone interception late in the fourth quarter with the Eagles trailing by one.

Julian Edelman, WR, New England Patriots: Edelman limped off the field and slammed his helmet to the ground in frustration over a foot injury he suffered at the end of the first quarter. The Patriots ruled him out for the remainder of the game, and on Sunday evening, sources told ESPN that Edelman would have foot surgery for a broken bone in his foot, and the team is hopeful he can return sometime later this season. Edelman is an essential cog in New England's offensive machine, ranking first on the team in catches (57) and second in receiving yards (639) entering this week.

Landry Jones, QB, Pittsburgh SteelersJones, the Steelers' backup QB, injured his left ankle early in the game against Cleveland. He did not return. Ben Roethlisberger -- who was Pittsburgh's No. 2 on Sunday as he continued to recover from a foot sprain -- was called into emergency duty and threw for 379 yards and three TDs. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Roethlisberger is the only active Super Bowl-winning QB to enter a game as a backup, after having won a Super Bowl.

Ryan Mathews, RB, Eagles: Mathews suffered a concussion in the third quarter. He had gained 40 total yards from scrimmage and scored a touchdown before being ruled out.

Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Denver Broncos: Sanders got popped by Chiefs DB Daniel Sorensen after a high throw from Peyton Manning midway through the third quarter. The WR was evaluated for a concussion -- and according to ESPN Broncos reporter Jeff Legwold, Sanders passed the test -- but the team decided to hold him out for the remainder of the game anyway.

Mike Iupati, G, Arizona CardinalsAn integral part of Arizona's improved run game, Iupati went down with a scary-looking injury with 9:16 left in the second quarter against the Seahawks. Iupati suffered a neck injury when he collided helmet-to-helmet with Seattle safety Kam Chancellor, who met the pulling guard just as he was dropping his head. Iupati's head was strapped to a stretcher and he was taken off the field in an ambulance. According to a Cardinals spokesperson, Iupati was taken to a nearby hospital and has feeling in his extremities. Arizona later announced that he was released from the hospital and is headed back to Arizona with the rest of the team.

David Bakhtiari, T, Green Bay PackersBakhtiari came in and out of Sunday's game against the Lions, as he struggled with a left leg injury. He took the cart to the locker room in the fourth quarter and did not return to the game.

Keenan Lewis, CB, New Orleans Saints: Lewis had been sidelined earlier this season with a hip injury, and he left Sunday's contest against the Redskins with an ailing knee after a collision with DeSean Jackson. Lewis returned to the sideline in his uniform, but did not return to the game. According to ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett, Lewis said after the game he thinks he suffered an MCL injury.
