— -- The Portland Trail Blazers and guard C.J. McCollum have reached an agreement on a four-year extension worth $106 million, as first reported Monday by The Vertical and confirmed by ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

The deal does not include a player option, according to The Vertical, and will start in the 2017-18 season.

McCollum, 24, was voted as the NBA's Most Improved Player this this past season after a breakthrough third season with the Blazers.

The 6-foot-4 McCollum averaged career highs of 20.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 80 games in 2015-16, his first season as a full-time starter.

McCollum's emergence helped Portland, which was projected to be a rebuilding team, make a surprising run to the playoffs. The Blazers upset the Clippers in the first round before being eliminated by the Warriors.

McCollum, the No. 10 pick in the 2014 draft, will become the latest young player to sign a long-term extension to stay with the Blazers, joining Damian Lillard, Allen Crabbe and Meyers Leonard.
