Devon Still Waived by Cincinnati Bengals
"Have nothing but love for the Bengals organization," Still said.
— -- Defensive tackle Devon Still, who became nationally known for his 5-year-old daughter's battle with cancer, was released today by the Cincinnati Bengals.
He's now a free agent and can sign with any other team, according to ESPN.
Still wrote on Instagram today: "Have nothing but love for the Bengals organization and the city of Cincinnati. Both helped me through one of the darkest times of my life and I am forever grateful. It's time to move forward and see what's next".
At about the same time as Still's post, the Bengals tweeted a list of its roster moves:
Still has been in the spotlight much of this year as he shared his 5-year-old daughter Leah's battle with cancer, often posting some of their special moments -- like fist bumps and pep talks -- on social media.
At the ESPY's in July, Still and Leah were honored with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award.
"For every child out there that's battling cancer ... y'all are the real heroes," Still said in his speech. "Y'all never give up."
