— -- SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame sophomore safety Drue Tranquill left Saturday's game against Georgia Tech with an apparent right knee injury.

Tranquill, who tore the ACL in his left knee in November, appeared to hurt his right knee while chest-bumping teammate Joe Schmidt after a crucial third-down pass breakup in the end zone late in the second quarter.

The Fighting Irish athletic training staff rushed to aid Tranquill, who appeared to be fighting back tears as he was helped off the field.

Notre Dame entered halftime leading the Yellow Jackets 13-7.
