— -- Trade talks to send Boston Celtics forward Jeff Green to the ? Memphis Grizzlies are heating up, according to league sources.

Although sources stressed Friday to ESPN.com that hurdles still have to be cleared before a trade can go through, Memphis has emerged as the most serious suitor for Green, who is widely known to be available in the wake of Boston's recent trade of Rajon Rondo to Dallas, which launched the Celtics' rebuilding process in earnest.

The Celtics and Grizzlies, sources said, have been exchanging trade proposals on Green for some time, with Memphis believed to be offering the $7.7 million expiring contract of Tayshaun Prince and a future first-round pick to Boston in exchange for him.

But it remains to be seen -- if the teams can reach the point of consummating a trade -- whether other players and further draft compensation would ?be added.

?ESPN.com reported earlier this week that the Grizzlies were aggressively pursuing the likes of Green and Miami Heat swingman Luol Deng in hopes of bolstering their wing rotation in the ever-competitive Western Conference.

The two teams below Memphis in the standings Friday have both made significant roster additions in recent weeks, with Dallas acquiring Rondo and Houston acquiring Corey Brewer and Josh Smith.
