— -- Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Yasiel Puig collided with teammate Howie Kendrick during a Thursday exhibition game and ended up leaving the game.

The players collided during the fifth inning of the game against the Los Angeles Angels while trying to catch a fly ball hit by Mike Trout. Kendrick, playing second base, drifted into the outfield. Puig started sprinting when he noticed Kendrick wasn’t in position to make the catch -- and while doing so, his face and throat collided with Kendrick’s elbow.

Puig lay motionless on the grass, his glove covering his face, as teammates and personnel surrounded him.

He was later able to walk off the field on his own accord.
