After eight scoreless innings by Roger Clemens on Saturday, reliever Brad Lidge gave up a home run to Jack Wilson in the ninth of Pittsburgh's 1-0 victory. The loss cut Houston's lead over Philadelphia to 1 1/2 games in the wild card chase. Rookie Ezequiel Astacio (2-5, 6.75 ERA) will try to rebound from a loss to Washington on Tuesday, when he gave up five runs and six hits in four innings. Dave Williams (9-8, 4.18) seeks to become the first Pirates pitcher with double figures in victories this year. In Tuesday's win at Colorado, he yielded one run and six hits in six innings. Pittsburgh, who opened the season with 19 losses in its last 21 games at Houston, has taken three of five here this year.
