Socially Speaking: Team USA's Famous Fans React To The Dramatic Win
— -- Despite some major controversy (I see you, Suzann Pettersen!), the United States team rallied for its first Solheim Cup crown since 2009 on Sunday. Trailing 10-6 after the morning matches, the Americans overcame the biggest deficit in tournament history for a 14 1/2-13 1/2 victory over the Europeans.
While you were likely sitting on your couch wearing your red, white and blue pajamas screaming "U-S-A, U-S-A!" during the comeback, some of the team's most-famous fans tweeted their congratulations.
Fellow LPGA stars were thrilled for their friends:
Their peers on the PGA Tour seemed equally enthused by the day's results. Well, maybe not everyone was happy for the Americans. (See: Garcia, Sergio)
Fellow athletes and others from the sports world chimed in.
And Piers Morgan just couldn't help himself, stirring up a little controversy of his own with a contentious tweet. (Because, of course he did.)
