See the Stunning Evolution of the iPhone Camera in 8 Photos
Photographer tested 8 models to show the evolution of the iPhone camera.
— -- It's no secret that the iPhone effectively killed the market for point and shoot cameras and here's proof of how the device did it.
Photographer Lisa Bettany, co-founder of MagiCam and Camera+, put the cameras of all eight iPhones to the test, shooting the same object in the same light.
When looking at the results side by side, the evolution of the iPhone camera is stunning.
"Every time I do this comparison, I am amazed at how far the iPhone camera technology has come," Bettany wrote on her blog. "It has transformed the way we capture and share memories. With each new phone, we can capture these moments faster and more accurately with better quality images."
The faster and sharper focus of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus cameras were shown off at Apple's event in Cupertino, California, earlier this month where the devices were introduced to the world.
Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of marketing, showed off stunning photos taken with the iPhone 6 -- including one of the Scottish Highlands taken by a National Geographic photographer.
