Apple Watch Starts At $349: Live Updates

— -- The official time for the Apple Watch will be on April 24.

Tim Cook showed off new capabilities of Apple's new wearable at an event in San Francisco and revealed customers will have it on their wrists later next month.

Calling it the most "personal device ever," Tim Cook showed off the differentcapabilities of Apple's first wearable -- which include everything from exercise to staying on track throughout the workday.

"It's like having a coach on your wrist!" he said.

The watch is compatible with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. It is expected to begin at a price point of $349 and will come in three editions: Apple Watch Sport, the standard Apple Watch and a luxury gold edition. Consumers can expect to pay more for the high-end versions.

Apple also revealed its thinnest-ever MacBook today. Weighing in at 2 pounds, the notebook is 24 percent thinner than its predecessor, the company said. Apple CEO Tim Cook joked that the computer was so light he couldn't even feel it.
