— -- The Ashley Madison dump of stolen information has some people on social media seeing the karmic value -- while others expressed worry about the future of information security.

The trove posted on the dark Web comes one month after Ashley Madison's parent company, Avid Life Media, confirmed a "criminal intrusion" into its system. The website connects people looking to have an extramarital affair.

Among the private information posted are names and email addresses that could expose millions of people looking for a hookup online. It's important to note that Ashley Madison users aren't required to verify their email addresses, meaning some found in the dump may have been hijacked by Ashley Madison users seeking to keep their own email addresses off their accounts.

While cheaters may be having a nerve-wracking day, some people on Twitter predicted divorce lawyers would be extra busy with potential new clients.

Others pointed out the severity of the hack and expressed worry about what other private information hackers could potentially access.
