Facebook Celebrates Pride Month With Rainbow Emojis
Plenty to cheer for as Pride Month 2014 kicks off.
June 2, 2014— -- The LGBT community has lots to celebrate this year, and Facebook just made it a little more fun.
The social network launched a series of cheeky new stickers -– just like emojis -– to share with friends in the site’s chat feature.
Think rainbows, hearts and lots of cartoonish same-sex couples.

“We see this as one more way we can make Facebook a place where people can express their authentic identity,” Facebook said.
The White House has proclaimed June is “LGBT Pride Month,” and this month will mark pride parades and parties around the country.
There is also plenty to rejoice.
“Orange is the New Black” star Laverne Cox recently appeared on the cover of Time magazine as the face of its feature, “The Transgender Tipping Point.”
Illinois became the latest U.S. state to legalize gay marriage on Sunday.
Last June, the Supreme Court sided with gay marriage advocates and ruled part of the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional.
