Twitter Users Ponder a World Beyond 140 Characters

That definition could one day cease to exist. Twitter is reportedly working on a new product that will allow users to share tweets longer than the standard 140-character limit, according to a report in Re-Code citing people familiar with the project.

Twitter representatives did not immediately respond to ABC News' request for comment. Meanwhile, the possibility of a key change to Twitter had many on the platform wondering about a whether it really needed to become a world extending beyond 140 characters.
