— -- California is known as a friendly destination for gay travelers, and with the state due to sanction same-sex weddings next week, it's really rolling out the welcome mat.

The California Travel and Tourism Commission website is showcasing four dozen wedding locales and packages for gay honeymooners. At Ardenwood Affairs, a Victorian-style wedding site with a mansion in Fremont, twosomes can arrive for their ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage. Same-sex couples staying two nights at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles receive a one-year Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) membership. And at the Chateau de Vie in the Napa Valley, which has gay owners, duos can say "I do" on a terrace overlooking vineyards.

"There is no doubt that same-sex marriage and vacations to California will be good for the economy," tourism commission exec Susan Wilcox said in a statement. Information on hotel packages and wedding sites more are being added is posted at visitcalifornia.com/lgbt.
