Fla. Teacher Kristen Sullivan Accused of Having Year-Long Sexual Relationship With Her Student
Kristen Sullivan allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student.
April 23, 2010 — -- A Florida teacher is facing several charges after police say she carried out a nearly year-long consensual sexual relationship with a 14-year-old male student, allegedly having sex on her desk at school and even in a parked car outside the boy's home.
Kristen Sullivan, 25, was arrested April 20 and is facing two counts of sexual battery while being in a position of authority and one count of lewd or lascivious battery.
Authorities at the Lauderhill Police Department say that the relationship began when Sullivan met the student, whose name is redacted in the police report because of his age, in January 2009 during a boxing program at Lauderhill Middle School. At the time, the student was in the eighth grade.
Over the course of the next six months, Sullivan transferred the student into her computer class and would "pull him out of other classes so that he could assist her," according to the police report obtained by ABCNews.com. She also allegedly "changed the grade he received in his science class from a 'C' grade to a 'B,'" the police said.
In May 2009, the relationship allegedly heated up when Sullivan "kissed the teen on the cheek while in her classroom after school," according to the student's statement to police.
The student told police that after Sullivan kissed him on the cheek in May 2009 he telephoned his teacher and asked if she would have sex with him.
Sullivan allegedly responded, "We'll see," but the next morning, Sullivan escorted the student to a computer room at the school "which only she had a key to," according to the police report. Sullivan and the student then had sex in this so-called "computer storage room."
The student claims that he and Sullivan had sex approximately 100 times between May 2009 and April 18, 2010, and some days had sex more than once a day.
