— -- Rescue crews evacuated 48 people from two trams at a New Hampshire ski area that became stuck in sub-zero temperatures today, officials said.

The two separate trams became stuck on the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway at 1:50 p.m., while one tram was at the bottom of the mountain and one was at the top, Cannon Mountain spokesman John Devivo said.

A sling system harness lowered people 50 feet, from the inside of the tram to the ground, Devivo said.

The top tram, which had two people on board, was stuck for just under two hours, while the bottom tram, with 41 people on board, was stuck between two and three hours, Devivo said.

No injuries were reported.
