Plane Clipped on JFK Taxiway
JetBlue plane was clipped by an Air India plane on the taxiway.
March 9, 2013— -- Federal Aviation Administration officials are investigating how an Air India plane that had just arrived at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport managed to clip a JetBlue plane this morning. No passengers on either plane were reported injured.
According to the FAA, the minor collision happened at around 6:15 this morning when the wingtip of the Air India flight clipped the tail of a JetBlue flight bound for West Palm Beach, Fla.

While the FAA reported that the JetBlue flight had pushed back from the gate before the minor collision, a JetBlue spokesperson said the flight had actually been disabled due to a problem with its tow bar and was waiting at the gate.
Neither plane was being directed by air traffic controllers at the time of the collision.
After the incident, Jetblue passengers were transferred to another plane and were flown to Florida approximately three hours later than their scheduled flight.
The FAA is still investigating the incident.
According to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, JFK International Airport handled more than 400,000 flights last year and more than 49 million passengers.
