Runaway Horse Injures Seven in California Park

The horse bucked its rider on a crowded trail.

Dec. 28, 2013 — -- A runaway horse injured seven people on a crowded trail near Griffith Park today in Burbank, Calif.

The horse injured four adults and three minors after it bucked its rider on a trail near the Los Angeles Equestrian Center located between Burbank and Los Angeles, according to Burbank police.

None of those injured had life-threatening injuries and all were taken to area hospitals.

The incident happened just before noon according to police, when the horse bucked its rider and collided with other riders on the back country trail that leads from the equestrian center to Griffith Park.

Police said there were many people walking or riding on the trail around midday.

Ranch hands were eventually able to corral and contain the horse, according to police.
