Man Catches Sharks While Fishing in Long Beach, New York

Each shark was released back into the ocean.

— -- Beachgoers in Long Beach, New York, today found themselves up close and personal with several sharks.

Courtney Blount was on the beach this afternoon when she saw a man with about three fishing lines set up. He intended to catch sea bass or fluke, but instead, ended up catching four or five sharks, Blount said.

"Each time it took about 10 minutes to reel them in, but he was able to bring them to shore," Blount said.

Each shark was released back into the ocean, Blount said.
