Jan. 19, 2013— -- A Carlsbad, Calif. high school student who was reported missing one week ago after the video of her fight with a classmate was posted online has been reunited with her family.

Baileigh Karam, 14, told investigators she had been staying with her friends since she was reported missing on Jan. 11, ABC affiliate KGTV in San Diego reported.

Karam disappeared shortly after a video of her fist fight with another student at Carlsbad High School that was recorded on cell phone surfaced on Facebook. In the video, which was obtained by KGTV, Karam is seen being repeatedly punched by another female classmate as peers circled around the girls and egged on the brawl.

No one stepped in to break up the fight, which reportedly stemmed from jealousy over a boy.

Karam's mother, Karen Karam, was concerned her daughter was reading her classmates' comments on the video online, according to an missing person's flyer posted online by Seeking The Lost.

Karen Karam told KGTV she notified the school that her daughter was being harassed.

The teen is currently speaking with counselors, KGTV reported.

Carlsbad High School issued a statement on its website after Karam had been found safe.

"Thank you to the Carlsbad Police Department and everyone who provided assistance and support in this successful effort and welcome outcome."
