Police Searching for Person Overboard at Niagara Falls

— -- Police and fire crews were searching tonight for a woman who went over on the U.S. side of Niagara Falls, officials said.

The woman went over the falls at Prospect Point at around 6 p.m., officials said. New York State Park Police and local firefighters were on the scene this evening searching for her.

Park Police spokesman Randy Simons told The Associated Press it appeared the woman, said to be in her 40s, intentionally entered the water to "harm herself."
