Snapchat Video From Inside the Orlando Nightclub Records String of Gunshot Sounds
One of the victims was making a Snapchat story during her time in the club.
— -- Amanda Alvear shared a Snapchat video of herself dancing with friends, bobbing her head and enjoying a cocktail inside the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday.
Moments later, the video turns sinister.
The camera flips, showing Alvear's face close up as loud gunshots can be heard in the background.
At least 16 shots are recorded on Alvear's Snapchat story.
Her brother Brian Alvear shared the video of her Snapchat story online and gave ABC News permission to share it.
"Yes, this is Amanda. She was creating a Snapchat story though the night. This is the last time anyone saw her. After this, she did receive and answer one call," Brian Alvear posted on Facebook as a caption to the video.
Several hours after he posted the video, he updated his Facebook feed with confirmation that his sister was dead.
The city of Orlando included Amanda Alvear on the growing list of fatalities that it is posting online. Local officials confirmed that there were 49 victims who died in the massacre and an additional 53 people who were injured. Police said the shooter, Omar Mateen, was killed by officers in a gunbattle.
