2 Dead After Gunman Opens Fire in Florida Wendy's

At least two people are dead and several people are wounded after gunshots were fired inside a Wendy's restaurant in West Palm Beach, Fla., today.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office tells ABC News that at least two people including the shooter are dead and that three people are in critical condition. The gunman is believed to have killed himself, the sheriff says.

Two others were reportedly injured but it is not clear if they were shot.

Eyewitness Ashley Milton, 28, told The Associated Press said she had just opened the door to get lunch when she heard the "pop pop" of gunfire and saw people running.

"I really didn't think that's what it was. I thought this can't be happening," she said. "You see your life flash before your eyes," she told the AP.

ABC News' affiliate WPBF in West Palm Beach reports the shooter was described by witnesses as a tall man in a suit, who began shooting after exiting the bathroom.

The gunman, who has not been indentified, allegedly first shot and killed a man standing by the railing near the front counter, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera, told WPBF.

Barbera told WPBF that the shooter then proceeded to shoot several other patrons inside, hitting at least four others. Barbera said that the four victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their condition has not yet been released.

It is not clear if the shooter knew any of his victims.

Sandra Jackson, 43, of Palm Springs, told AP she was across the street from the restaurant getting gas when the shooting started.

"I just saw a lady with a little boy in her arms come running out screaming 'somebody's shooting,"' Jackson said.

The shooter, who was described by witnesses as a tall man in a business suit, reportedly walked out of the bathroom of the Wendy's at Cherry Road and Military Trail around 12:18 p.m. Monday and shot a man standing by the railing near the front counter, killing him, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera said.

Barbera told WPBF that the shooter then proceeded to shoot several other patrons inside, hitting at least four others. Barbera said that the four victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their condition has not yet been released.

Several people were seen being carried away on stretchers and taken to hospitals.
