1. Major Snow Advisory in North Dakota

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a no-travel advisory for parts of the state due to near zero visibility from blowing snow. Plows have been pulled from the roads and will resume work once conditions are better.

2. Oakley and Nike Distance Themselves from Pistorius

Oakley and Nike, two major sponsors, distanced themselves from Olympian Oscar Pistorius on Monday after he was charged with murdering his model girlfriend. Pistorius is in court today to begin his bail appplication.

3. Triumph Fire Caused by Fuel Oil Leak

A Coast Guard official said Monday that the engine-room fired on the Carnival cruise ship Triumph was caused by a leak in a fuel oil return line. The investigation of the disabled ship is estimated to take six months.

4. OfficeMax, Office Depot in Talks to Merge

OfficeMax and Office Depot are in talks to merge, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. An announcement could be made as early as this week.

5. Michelle Obama Talks 'Mid-Life Crisis'

First Lady Michelle Obama told Rachael Ray in a taped interview slated to air Wednesday that her decision to get bangs and a new haircut were inspired by a "mid-life crisis." She said since she could not get a sports car or go bungee jumping, she decided to cut her bangs instead.
