1. Snorkeler Mistakes Fake Skeletons for Real Human Remains, Sends Authorities on Hunt

A man snorkeling in the Colorado River near the Arizona and California border sent authorities on a hunt after he alerted them to what appeared to be "skeletal remains" at the bottom of the river.

After he called police in Arizona, authorities launched a search for the remains on Monday, and divers from the Buckskin Fire Department swam down to investigate.

To everyone's surprise -- and relief -- the skeletons, seated comfortably in lawn chairs, turned out to be fake, police said. They were even wearing sunglasses and were placed in a way as though they were having a tea party, the La Paz County Sheriff's Office said.

2. Son Detained in Death of Parents While on Family Vacation in Virgin Islands, Police Say

A 24-year-old Massachusetts man has been detained by police in connection with the fatal stabbing of his elderly parents during a family vacation in the U.S. Virgin Islands, police said.

Jane Young, 67, and Kenneth Young, 73, were visiting St. Thomas from the U.S. mainland, according to police.

Their bodies were found inside their rental condominium located in the Sapphire Bay area of the U.S. Virgin Islands on Monday night, police said.

3. Sheryl Sandberg Remembers Husband David Goldberg In Touching Tribute On Facebook

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg posted a touching tribute to her husband, Dave Goldberg, saying that he was laid to rest.

Goldberg died at 47 last Friday from severe head trauma and significant blood loss after slipping and falling from a treadmill at a hotel gym in Mexico, Mexican authorities said.

"I want to thank all of our friends and family for the outpouring of love over the past few days," Sandberg wrote in the post on Facebook. "It has been extraordinary - and each story you have shared will help keep Dave alive in our hearts and memories."

4. Police Create Image of Jesus as a Child Using Shroud of Turin, Computer Forensics

The National Police in Italy reportedly created a digital image of what they believe Jesus Christ looked like as a young child.

Detectives used the Shroud of Turin -- a famous relic believed by some to be the burial cloth of Jesus -- to generate a photo of Jesus' face, The Independent reported. The Shroud of Turin has a faint image of a face, which some believe to be Jesus' face imprinted on the cloth after his crucifixion.

Police then put the generated image through a computer forensics reverse-aging process to see what Jesus may have looked like as a young boy, according to The Independent.

5. Big Bird Caroll Spinney Reveals 'Sesame Street' Memories

After more than 46 years as Big Bird, Caroll Spinney is telling his long and illustrious story in "I Am Big Bird," a documentary out today in theaters across the country.

Spinney, 81, who also is the actor behind Oscar the Grouch, told ABC News he's "enjoying it all" and was surprised that after all this time on "Sesame Street," he was finally asked to do a movie about his life.

The movie, presented by Tribeca Films, features footage dating back to Spinney's first interactions with "Sesame Street" creator Jim Henson. He said his almost half century on the show has gone by "so fast."
