This 'Thriller' Flash Mob at a Baseball Stadium Wins Halloween

— -- Students at San Diego State University showed their Halloween spirit Sunday, performing a flash mob set to Michael Jackson’s hit song "Thriller."

The performance was part of the university baseball team’s annual Halloween Game -- a tradition established by former manager and baseball hall of famer Tony Gwynn, who died earlier this year.

The year’s event featured people in all sorts of costumes -- such as zombies, sumo wrestlers, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Abraham Lincoln. As smoke billowed and Vincent Price’s narration blasted over the speakers, the team took the field, joined by band members and other athletes. The school’s dance team helped choreograph the moves.

Coach Mark Martinez said the “Thriller” dance was a tribute to Gwynn, who was a fan of Jackson’s music.

“That was a little shout out to Coach Gwynn,” Martinez told the San Diego Union-Tribune.
