— -- A couple visiting Big Four Ice Caves in Washington state ignored warnings of an avalanche and captured cellphone footage of Mother Nature in action.

Colby Dotson and his girlfriend, Ashley Bechard, lived to tell the tale and share the video after venturing Saturday afternoon into the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest north of Seattle.

"It was definitely an experience that dropped your jaw," Dotson told ABC News.

Bechard said she first heard a loud noise and knew it was an avalanche. Dotson captured the avalanche falling behind them on his cell phone, with the rumble of snow and ice almost sounding like a waterfall rushing downhill.

"It was like the blink of an eye and then it was closer and closer and closer," Dotson said. "All I did was look the opposite direction and started to run."

No one was injured, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Twitter account.
