The Conversation: 101 Unexpected Uses for a Wedding Dress

May 20, 2010— -- When Kevin Cotter's wife left him after 12 years of marriage she left only one item behind. Her wedding dress. Cotter was told he could do whatever he wanted with it, but for a long time it just sat in the closet.

That all changed after Cotter's sister-in-law joked that she thought Cotter could find 101 things to do with the dress. After that Cotter decided to start a blog for the dress, called My Ex-Wife's Wedding Dress. The blog now chronicles all of the various ideas Cotter has come up with for the dress, ranging from an ice pack, to a sports banner to dental floss.

In today's Conversation Cotter spoke with ABC News' Stephanie Sy about some of his favorite uses for the dress. Find out why a veil makes a perfect pasta strainer and how activities like yoga and jump roping can be done with your very own wedding dress.
