Transcript for Wicked Weather Across the Nation
Thank you for leading us off again tonight. The rough weather across the country. Americans hit by thunderstorms, rain and wicked hail. ABC's Steve osunsami has been tracking it all. Reporter: Heavy rains across four states, including this one in Texas that trapped a family underneath their home. More than 500 reports of severe weather. I don't know what to do. I have never been in a storm like this. Reporter: And for parts of the midwest, more than a foot of snow. But as the storm moved east, it was all about the hail. This was a Walmart in Denton, Texas. Hail the size of softballs were tearing through the store's roof, customers inside, running for cover, underneath store shelves. In the parking lot, nothing but busted windows. Anything about the size of a quarter is considered severe, and this storm is dropping up to four-inch hail. Between 100 and 120 miles an hour. There's now more rain on the way, setting the stage for possible river flooding across parts of the midwest next week, Diane. All right, Steve, thanks.
