Transcript for Southwest Airlines Flight 347 Has Gear-Up Landing
My pleasure. From the news of the royal family in england, breaking news to report at new york's laguardia airport. The landing gear apparently collapsed touching down. Reporter: Good evening. Southwest airline flight from nashville, tennessee came into new york's laguardia airport this evening, the nose gear apparently collapsed upon touchdown. We saw pictures tweeted that showed the crippled jetliner on the runway. You can see it's still there. The plane apparently reported possible landing gear issues before coming in and when pilots suspect that what they do is land with that rear gear first and then hold on as long as possible before they put that nose gear down. There are conflicting reports tonight about whether there are any injuries. The airport is reporting that three passengers were injured. Those passengers stayed on the plane initially. They exited then through the emergency shoots. The airport though one of the nation's busiest right now is closed down as they clear up this incident. Diane? Thank you. Lisa stark will stay on this story for us tonight.
