— -- Chris Pratt is the latest name to be rumored as the next "Indiana Jones," and after a huge 2014, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star seems primed for the iconic role made famous by Harrison Ford.

Deadline is reporting talks between Disney and Pratt, 35, are still early, but it's not too early to come up with five reasons he would be a great Indy.

1. He's a Bona Fide Action Star Now

He didn't just kick butt taking on the Marvel role of Star-Lord, a.k.a. Peter Quill, in "Guardians of the Galaxy," he basically became one of the most bankable actors in Hollywood. That's how it happens. One day you are a regular on "Parks and Recreation," the next, you are turning down $20 million offers. Even his brown leather jacket in the film kind of makes him look like Jones.

2. He's Good With Witty Deliveries

His humor in "Guardians" and "Parks" is the witty, dry type of quips Dr. Jones is known for.

"We named the dog Indiana," Jones' father (played by Sean Connery) says in 1989's "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade."

"You're named after the dog?"

Jones replies, "I've got a lot of fond memories of that dog."

On paper, not that funny, so it's all about the dry delivery that's important. Kind of like when Pratt replied to Groot in "Guardians," after he said, guess what, "I am Groot."

"Well that's just as fascinating as the first 89 times. What is wrong with Giving Tree here?" Star-Lord says.

Again, a line that needs the perfect delivery.

3. He's Already in the Family

There's a reason Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese keep working together, and there's a reason the newest "Steve Jobs" biopic has been so hard to cast -- money, the right timing, etc. After starring in "Guardians," Pratt is part of the Walt Disney family, whether you know it or not.

Disney, ABC and Marvel are all part of the same family. Believe it or not, this will seriously help when it comes time to get a quality movie out there before 2020.

4. The Reaction From Fans, Celebs Has Been Supportive

ABC stars like Sarah Hyland have been jumping for joy at the possible news.

And there are many more where that came from.

5. There Should Be No Off-Set Drama, Whatsoever

Pratt is not only a rising star, he's one of the most down-to-Earth celebrities around. He's married to the enchanting Anna Faris, 38, and they have a son, Jack. All these two do is make each other that much funnier.

"I married way out of my pay grade. I have no idea how that happened. She's so godd*** funny and so good. She is a legit comedy powerhouse. But I'm not going to question it too much. I don't know what it is, man. I guess chicks dig love handles or something," he told GQ in 2012.

'Nuff said, cast the man already!
