Brie Larson joins YouTube: See the 'Captain Marvel' star's 1st video
"I used to make movies in my garage as a kid every summer."
Brie Larson is officially a YouTuber.
The "Captain Marvel" star announced Thursday she has started her very own YouTube channel and the first video, "So, I made a decision…," is already live for fans to enjoy.
Moments that proved these female Marvel heroes were no damsels in distress
In her debut offering, the Academy Award-winning actress began with a few giggles and blooper-worthy moments before explaining she decided to join the platform because she has learned so much on the site -- from how to use her printer to how to be a considerate activist.
"This is the place to talk about things that are important and that matter," the "Room" star said.
As for her own videos, "it doesn't mean that there isn't also silly content, that there's always ways for me to express myself personally, but there will also be deep conversations, anti-racist rhetoric, inclusive content," she explained.
The rest of the video is Larson "getting warmed up" and "feeling this out" over some chats with fellow YouTuber creators she admires such as Lilly Singh, ASAPScience, iJustine, Sean Evans from "Hot Ones" and more. Oh, and her mom and grandmother make appearances, too.
"I used to make movies in my garage as a kid every summer. It's not dissimilar to what I'm doing right now," Larson, 30, added. "I'm back to the beginning. I feel like I'm 15 again, which is pretty cool."
In the description, she also listed some of her favorite Black voices -- such as Tessa Thompson, Mj Rodriguez and Janet Mock to name a few -- as well as organizations fighting for racial justice -- such as Justice for Breonna and Black Lives Matter -- for people to follow.
Given how much of a fan Larson is of "Animal Crossing," it's only a matter of time before she invites viewers to her virtual island oasis.
