Josh Groban announces Radio City Music Hall residency
The performance is more than just a concert with interviews, comedy and more.
Josh Groban has a new performance residency in the heart of the Big Apple.
The singer announced the plans for Josh Groban's Great Big Radio City Show on "Good Morning America" and said it's expected to be much more than just a concert; it's billed as "a spectacular evening of so many things."
"I have been given an extraordinary opportunity to do a series of shows at Radio City Music Hall that's unlike anything else I've ever done in my life," Groban said.
Groban said his over 18-year career began very out of the box without a playbook as he was doing a little bit of everything. So when Radio City approached him about doing some shows, Groban's manager suggested doing something different, special and versatile.
"Radio City Music Hall said, 'Hey, we're gonna give you this venue as a playground to craft a show one every couple months that involves all of those things,'" he said. "There will be interviews, there will be guests, there will be music [and] there will be unexpected moments with the audience."
The Los Angeles native said the performance with so many elements from music and comedy to audience interaction will also be very "New York-centric."
"It's the biggest challenge for me, it's an honor to be asked to do it and so I'm excited," he said.
Pre-sales for the Feb. 14 and April 18 shows start on Tuesday with general on sales starting Friday.
