Kevin Bacon is tapping into his "Footloose" days to speak up about recent legislation targeting drag shows.

The actor, 64, shared a video to Instagram on Sunday featuring him and wife Kyra Sedgwick dancing to Taylor Swift's song "Karma," along with a message about anti-drag bills like the one passed in Tennessee last month.

"Drag bans are bad karma. Right now, drag performers and the LGBTQIA+ community need our help," he wrote in the caption, adding the hashtag "DragIsARight."

In the comments of the post, Bacon added a follow-up statement, writing, "Bigotry will not be tolerated. Please be kind to one another in the comments."

Sedgwick, 57, also shared the video to her Instagram story. "Don't be a drag. Don't ban Drag," she wrote.

The posts come as state legislators across the country move to restrict drag performances.

In Tennessee, Gov. Bill Lee signed legislation in March restricting drag performances in public, making it the first state to pass such a ban. The legislation would specifically prohibit any "adult cabaret performance on public property" or where it can be viewed by minors.

The legislation was temporarily blocked on March 31 by a federal judge who called it "vague and overly-broad," delaying its enforcement while the court considers its constitutionality.

Similar anti-drag legislation has been introduced in more than a dozen other states, including Arizona, Idaho, Montana and Texas, among others.
