Kylie Kelce talks life in the spotlight with Jason Kelce, NFL playoffs and more
The mother of three also discussed body confidence.
The attention on the Kelce family has only become more heightened since Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce made history as the first brothers to play against each other at the 2023 Super Bowl.
The family also received more attention after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end began to date pop star Taylor Swift last year.
Speaking to "Good Morning America" in an interview that aired Monday, Kylie Kelce opened up about her life in the spotlight with husband Jason Kelce.
The interview occurred prior to the Chiefs' win against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Sunday, where Travis Kelce scored the first touchdown of the game. The victory secured the team a spot in the 2024 Super Bowl.
A high school field hockey coach, Kylie Kelce is also a mom of three young girls: Wyatt Elizabeth, 4, Elliotte Ray, 2, and Bennett Llewellyn, 11 months, whom she shares with the NFL star.
"I almost feel a little guilty that people are so interested in and invested in what I'm doing," she explained. "I'm like, I am trying to scrape applesauce off the couch ... this is not that fascinating. So it's funny to me. I deeply appreciate the support."
Kylie Kelce also discussed her husband's future in football as fans are eagerly waiting to see if Jason Kelce will retire or return to the Eagles next season, sharing that she would be supportive with any decision that he plans to make.
"I think that it would be unhealthy to always be asking, 'What if? What if I continued? What if I played one more season?'" she said. "I think that whatever he does, he's going to be successful in."
"And I'm not just saying that because I'm his wife, I think that it's his personality," she continued. "I'm very excited to see what he does next because I think he's going to absolutely nail it."
While navigating a busy life between running field hockey clinics and coaching her own team, Kylie Kelce has also partnered up with Dove and their self-esteem project for young female athletes ahead of the Super Bowl.
Kylie Kelce said the project aims to help instill body confidence among young athletes, something she embraces with her kids as well.
"We're making it a point right now to emphasize a positive tone when we talk about anything body-wise," she said. "Like our one daughter will sort of rub her belly and I'm like, 'Oh, that is the most beautiful belly I've ever seen.'"
"But I am now hyper aware of how I talk about myself and my body, not only in front of my daughters, but in front of my players," she elaborated. "I think it's important to model that positive body talk about yourself because then they're taking that away from what you're doing."
Jason and Kylie Kelce also became the most talked about spectators last week when the Philadelphia Eagles center went viral at the AFC Divisional playoff game for going shirtless in the stands as the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Buffalo Bills.
The mom of three had a front-row seat to her husband's high-energy antics that day as he watched his brother score two touchdowns in a victory over the Bills.
"He wanted to get the full Bills experience. I'm sure you know as a Bills fan, they are notorious or famous for their tailgating skills, I will say," Kylie Kelce explained. "He desperately wanted to go through a table. It was on his checklist for the day, top priority of the day -- go through table."
Kylie Kelce said her husband told her what he was going to do beforehand once he realized going "through a table" might not work out.
"He did not get a chance to do that. And so, when he came into the suite -- we arrived separately because he was meeting up with some friends and walking through the parking lot, I think, hoping to find himself a table -- he was unsuccessful. And so when he got into the suite, he said to me, 'I'm going to, I'm going to take my shirt off and I'm gonna jump out,'" Kylie Kelce recalled.
Even though the weather outside at Highmark Stadium was below freezing at the time, it didn't appear to bother Jason Kelce. Kylie Kelce said it was another issue that caused her some concern.
"And I was like, 'I don't think that's the best idea.' But I think that it was that continued energy from when he was hyping himself up to break a table," she continued. "So, the first time he jumped out of the suite, I was, you know what, go ahead. That's my husband! And then the second and third time he did it, I was like, I'm gonna need you to get back in because the poor cops that are out front trying to keep the chaos at a minimum, are, you're making their jobs harder. So at first, I was all for it. And then I had to try and reel him back in."
Kylie Kelce told "GMA" her husband eventually "put his shirt back on to leave the stadium."
At the game, Kylie Kelce also had the chance to meet her Taylor Swift for the first time. Among others in attendance included Swift's longtime friend Cara Delevingne as well as Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce's mom, Donna Kelce, and dad, Ed Kelce.
Asked if she enjoyed meeting all the incredible people at the game, Kylie Kelce replied in short, "Yes, I did."
