"You have plenty of time to get all of this done and then the fun part is now you have time to hang out with your guests during the commercials and play games," Garcia said on "GMA."

From flashy movie-themed decor to treats inspired by the films, check out the fun ways to get your Oscars on with just three simple ideas.

No-cooking required finger foods inspired by Oscar-nominated movies

Since the ceremony is usually over three hours long and on a Sunday evening, Garcia recommends putting out a no-cooking required selection of finger foods. The best part about this is once you've put your table together you are done for the night and all the food is already out once the guests arrive.

Ticketed cake platters: Using rolls of tickets (which you can get cheaply in craft stores or online) create displays using any base you can find (such as an upturned bowl or a drinking glass) in a variety of heights.

Painted mason jars: Spray paint mason jars with either matte black, silver and/or gold spray paint. Then use them to pop your plastic silverware and straws in for a beautiful display.

"The Oscar goes to..." trophies: Every Oscars party needs some games for those commercial breaks, and Garcia helped come up with awards you can give out right from home to each other, which can always turn into a lot of fun! Here are her suggestions of awards you and your guests can give to each other: Most likely to not have a speech prepared, most likely to trip on the red carpet and most likely to be played off mid-speech.

Popcorn bucket cupcakes: Make cupcakes ahead of time in any flavor you want. Once they are cooled, take red and white striped paper you can purchase at any art supply store and cut it to the width of the cupcake. Wrap the paper around the base and secure with tape, then add a thin layer of white icing to the top of the cupcake and stick on mini marshmallows at the top. You can serve as-is or pop them in the broiler to brown the marshmallows. For an extra touch, paint some yellow food coloring atop the mini marshmallows.

Red carpet ropes: Put Twizzler candies vertically into a tall glass display container for your own "red carpet ropes."

Best-dressed cake pops: Make cake pops ahead of time. Once cooled, dip them first into white chocolate, let that cool and harden and then dip the sides into dark chocolate to create a "V." Make three little dots vertically on top of the hardened white chocolate.

Finally, round out your dessert bar with sweet and sour candies, chocolates, cookies, wafers and baked goods to balance out your grazing table.
