Chef Jack McDavid divulges his recipe for homemade turkey burgers. The use of ground turkey provides a fun and healthy alternative to traditional all-beef burgers.


  • Burger Patties
  • 2 lbs turkey (thigh meat, skinned and ground)
  • 3 Tbs. parsley, minced
  • 2 Tbs. dry bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbs. fresh thyme
  • 1 Tbs. Old Bay poultry seasoning
  • 1 Tbs. onion, minced
  • Dressing
  • 1 Sweet red onion, diced
  • 1/4 avocado, sliced thin
  • Tartar sauce
  • Cooking Directions


    Mix ingredients together well and refrigerate for at least two hours.

    Portion into large burgers and grill while cold.

    Grill over hickory or charcoal.

    Serve with dressing.

    Method for Dressing

    Combine ingredients and mix well.

    Serve over burgers.
