— -- Spring has officially sprung and WABC meteorologist Bill Evans has the honor of kicking off the season with the “first mow” in Central Park.

To celebrate the spring opening of Sheep Meadow and other lawns in the New York City greenspace, Bill put down the clippers on his riding mower for the ceremonial first pass on the lawn, which was once clipped by sheep.

The grass hasn’t been cut all winter and the Central Park Conservancy field team and Evans are preparing the grass ready for opening day on Saturday, April 2.
