— -- That's all folks.

A brazen thief tried to take a little off the top at a Florida salon, swiping an iPad from a 4-year-old boy who was watching cartoons there, according to police and dramatic surveillance footage.

The boy, whose name ABC News is withholding, was sitting inside the salon in Tamarac, in the Fort Lauderdale area, waiting for his mother, who works there, on July 24 just before 7 p.m. when the alleged thief struck.

A teenager had been pacing back and forth outside the salon, police said.

After that, he opened the front door and asked if his mother was there.

When the employee turned her back, the teen swiped the iPad from the child's hands and took off, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

According to witnesses, the suspect is 5-foot-6 with a thin build. His hair was shaved with twists on the top, police said.

The victim was not injured.
