Oil spills from the Keystone pipeline have become more frequent and severe, a federal agency said.

For the first time in a week, crude oil is flowing again through most of the 2,687-mile Keystone Pipeline following a major leak in Kansas, officials said.

Officials worked over the weekend to mitigate the fallout from the Keystone Pipeline rupture that leaked about 14,000 barrels of crude oil into a Kansas creek.

The issue stems from new legislation meant to punish "riot boosting."

The company said the pipeline was shut down at 6 a.m.

The White House announced today it has signed off on the Keystone XL oil pipeline, authorizing the Canadian company behind the project to begin construction.

The actions drew applause from pipeline supporters, condemnation from opponents.

President Trump touted the potential economic impact of the pipelines.
