Shiloh Pepin is one of the few people in the world known to have "Mermaid Syndrome." Despite the obvious setbacks, this little girl has radiated joy throughout all eight years of her life.
Shiloh's doctor said in addition to having fused legs, she was missing several organs, including her uterus, bladder and large intestine. She was born with a small section of a kidney in her back, but it eventually failed. Doctors arranged her first kidney transplant when she was 2 years old.
